brought against them by federal
officers for selling bitters and other
, medicines containing alcohol, for
other than medicinal p u rpoes.
Harold Sutherland "and Harvey
Taylor, bartenders, were each fined
$76 on the same charge. A sixth
defendant, Dave Lynch, nlso clerk,
was scheduled to pleud today.
The arrest of the six men came
as a part of an extensive dry raid
campaign, netting over 20 prison
ers, principally on charges of sale.
It is possible more arrests may be
! made.
So far, disposition has been made
of the following cases: George
Reed, sale, five days and $500;
Llda Wolgamatt, sale, $100 fine;
Iceland Shidy, 40 days and $350
finej Autlc King, sale, four months;
George Wolff, bound over to fed
eral court on sale charge; Joe Mar
ham, bound over to federal court.

been prepared, including speeches
by W. D. B. Dodson. manager of
the Portland chamber of. com-
inercQ. and V. Ft. Armold of Los
Angeles, president of tho Armold
Sales Training Institute of Los An
geles. The dinner fs being prepared by
members of tho American Legion
auxiliary from food products en-,
ttrely grown in this section, and
donated by local organizations and
business establishments. Like the
first community dinner held last
year, the tickets and menus will
again be printed on pine boards,
furnished through the courtesy of
the Tomlin Box company.
The annual report of the cham
ber will bo rend this evening and
short talks wilt be given by the
retiring president, John C. Mann,
and 'the incoming president, .Carl
Swigart. Copies of the annual re
port will be furnished to all pres

and expressed satisfaction with the
