MOLLER NAMED
EXALTED
RULER
OF ELKSJ.ODGE
The new regime of the Mdford
v Klkn lodge 1h firmly Battled In the
; local B. P. O. E. saddle, following
: the inula Hat ion of the nw officer
limt niKht, hence today Ben M oiler l
is exalted ruler and the other new
officers are a follow: Esteemed
leading kniKht, . O. T. Baker:
i esteemed loyal knight, Everett
f Bravton: enteemed lecturing
t knight, Roland Hubbard; eecre-!
tnry. Fletcher T. Kluh; treasurer,
' . Ielroy Getchell; efinulre, B. L. !
1 IageHon; chaplain, Wm. It. Jiumli-
ton; inner guard, Gene Wright;
tiler, Nick Young.

Fimincc CommJltw
loufft Baker, Buy Wright. Jo
nepii Fllegel.
f JuHt what happened In the lodge
room 'in addition to the InHtallation
? ceremonies cannot be learned, as
i - - nil the Klkn today are clone
7 mouthed about It, but it is known I 3
t that leon B. liuHkiriN wan in & ',M
very much chufttened mood and
f will bo careful horeafter about
j setting summer sty lea on Easter
day.: What happened must have
i: been awful as Pop Gates was Keen
to leave the lodge room mopping
his brow with his tobacco pouch
f long before the meeting was over,
' and heard to exnlafm, "1 couldn't
" ; Stand It any otqot," -
It was learned, however, that
the newly Installed officer did not
weur tun FpalM, but nearly nplfU
raled the lodge ineiiibers by ap
pearing for the Installation in
evening dress, without , showing
; any aemhlunce of shame. That !h,
all but one of them, the outer
'guard, Nick Young, who only;
learned late in the uftornnoh of!
the new officers' derision lo wear
r- the soup and flsli garb but much !
too late, ns he found that the oih-
era hud rented the entire supply of
HUch garments from a local sec-.
ond-hand atoro.
"I'll fix 'em,' muttered Brother
, Nick. Hence when the much cor-
rectly dressed fellow officers-elect
marched In to bo Installed, there
wan Nick Young proudly garbed in
white overalls and a blue shirt.
' All that can be said further Is
that, according to report, the now
officers looked very cute and
f ' fetching in their dress of black and
'f white; that Nick saved the other
lodge memhem from entirely col
;' lapsing at the sight, and that in
: spite of their Indifference on this
' , occasion to the public welfare nnd
i peace of mind the lodge will pro-
$ Imbly enjoy another very proxper-
( ous year under their guldunce.
! , As usual, after u new regime is
j sworn In nnd Installed the lndg
members twice paraded tirouhd the
I lodge room past the new exalted
t ruler with , salam of obedience
t nnd allegiance, hut it was noticed
1 that many of the brutbers. still
.rankled' at the dress suit break,
iiurreptltlously sulumed with their
right hand spread out and thumb
t to the nose.
I ' Exalted Ruler Moller and tho
, other officers made brief addresses
in. which they pledged their bent
t , efforts for the continued growth
, and welfare of tho lodge, amid
i ' much applause. i
Mr, Moller, who had seen the
f Dug Fairgrounds musketeers nf-
! fair the night before nnd was still
I Impregnated with its lessons iof
friendship nnd loyalty, In his ad
dress gave the lodge a new slogan
for the coming year, as' follows:
"One for all, and ull for one, and
d d be the- mosquitoes," or
course,' the selfish new exalted
i ruler gave this out thoroly under
standing that ho wus the "one"
, meant, and thorcforo would get all
the best of it when tho "Ho l,u"
signal of distress sounded,
' Retiring Exalted Ruler Carl
Tcrgwald was presented with n
fine sllrer pendnnt Trom' Wool
worth's store by the piut exalted
rulers of the lodge, In token of his
valiant work the past year in be
half of the lodge, Ous Newbury
making the piesentullon speech.
Mr- Tengwatd also made a brief
ad (If chs in which he pledged a con-
tlnuntlon of his r.pitl for the wel
fare of .the lodge.. ,
The other retiring office In
cluilfcd the following: Lee 1.
Jacobs, secretury; K, E. With I,
treasurer; Jos. 1 Fllegel, esteemed
hmding knlghtt Ralph E. Kooxer,
esteemed loyal kniKht; Ray E.
Wright, esteemed lecturing knight.
.' For last night's Installation. I'ast
Exnlfed Ruler' W. II. MeGowan
acted as grand Installing officer.
nnd the following other ptist exalt-!
ed rulers filled the chairs ns repre
sentatives of the grand lodge: tins
Newhury, leading knight; T. E. '
