Iniversity Guild
Meets at Early Date.
The University Guild announces
through G. Ii, Turner, staff sec
retary, that a chapter of Pi Omi
cron sorority in Medford is now
an assured fact. Husiness and
professii.nal women of this com
munity are responding enthusias
tically to invitations to become
members of the new organization
which is playing such an Import
ant role in the national move
ment for adult education. Tenta
tive plans call for the Installa
tion meeting of the local chapter
some time during April.
The locating of a chapter of PI
Omicron In Medford is an event
of considerable importance, and
's recognition of this city as a
community in which things of
cultural interest are Riven due
prominence and attention. It Is
only natural, therefore, that local
women have been quick to appre
ciate the object and mission of Pi
Om'cron as stated in the wonrts
of Hlanche Reed, national presi
dent: "To 1ft one's thoughts out
of the monotony and drudgery
which are the common lot; to
free the mind from servitude and
heard opinion:' vo trail habits of
judgment and of appreciation of
values; to temper passion with
wisdom; to dispel prejudice by
better knowledge of self will
advance one In the achievement
of civilization this is the mission
of Pi Omicron."
