One of the propositions for manu
facturing airplanes and. accessaries,
that naturally will follow the lo
cation of class A airports, like Med
ford will. install, provided the bonds
are voted nextTuesday, Ih the one
recently received by the Chamber
of Commerce; from the manufac
turers, of a hew three-passenger
cabin monoplane, the final tests
onwhich are now beinjf made.
The company says thuti Medford
has been recommended to them as
having possibilities nt or near their
airport for a : first-class airplane
factory, and wanting: to know what
the city has to offer.
The company says it intends to
employ, about 100 men steadily at
first and turn putubout SO planes
a month, increasing production and
employes as demand for planes in
creases. '

plane from San Francisco while

a cost of approximately $150,000,

to officials "of thP oonvpany.
The machinery, some of It with
special specifications , Is now under
construction at Wainuboro, Pa., and ,
tne nrst shipments aro expected to:
be sent out within the next fort-,
night. The packing and cold stor
age plant will be the most modern
and complete in the Pacific North
west, and the largest in the state
of Oregon. 1 ' v
The plans for the lighting of the
structure have been completed by
Grrthame li. Ridley, lighting engineer,'-of
San Francisco. Under the'
system the illumination will Jte uni
form throughout the plant, and
will provide daylight lighting at air
hours. . i
Agreement for the furnishing of
400 horsepower of electricity for
the operation of the plant has been
signed with the California Oregon
Power company, nnd all the lum
ber used In the building is being
furnished by the Owen-Oregon
company.
Work started today on the" con
struction of the office of the plant,
which will be modernly equipped.
It Is planned to make the grounds
of the. plant, which is located on
the Pacific highway, a show place
of southern Oregon.

Twenty merit . badges will be
awarded tonight, one star scout

eight scouts will be tested for ad
vancement into second class.
