of the Infant son of Mr. nnd Mrs.
Matlock, former residents of Eagle
Point. The baby passed away from
pneumonia and was laid to rest in
tho Trail cemetery Monday after-

after being absent for a period of

ed the seeds they have gathered

berries and every kind of seed

are having a contest. They divided
into two teams the "Reds" and
"Ore-ens." Fifty cents. of every sub
scription sold for tho Country en

earn enough so that they may go

(Special.) With the basketball
scaaon nearly over, the students of
the Cold Hill high nehool are non
locking (omard to the baseball
season. -
The baseball diamond -will be
cleaned thoroughly and then the
whole field will be made perfectly
level. It has not been put in shape
for about two years, and after the
students get it fixed up it will be
an excellent field for this sport. A
'tractor and a scraper have already
been secured to star the opera
tions. It is expected that it will
be ready for practice in a week or
two.
The season will be opened about
the middle of next month. A num
ber of last year's players remain
on this year's team. s
