fishing found In the Hoxtio. Mr.
Dawson has favorite riffles for
mile up and down th Rogue nnd
hit record of fish caught during
1928 shows that these riffles have
reason for being favorites. Mr.
Dawson caught 94 steelheads, the
largest 11 pounds, for a totnl of
470 pounds. The average was five
ntmnda. He taught Its salmon, the
largest 48 pounds, for a total of
I&06 pounds. The salmon aver
aged 24 pounds to the fish. Thip
tnaket about one ton of fish for the
local angler during the aeaon. The
fiah taken were not wasted as they
were given to friends, Mr. Daw
eon1 probably holds the reeord for
the pounds landed during the
