Let us understand, at the outset,
that this campaign Is in no way
directed at those residents of Mod
ford who earn their livelihood
through house-to-house canvassing
hut rather toward tho transient
peddler who takes as much ns he
can get out of the community, and
leaven as llttlo as possible in re
turn. ' During the past year there
have been any number of transient
peddlers who hnve visited Med
ford, many of them sellfng Hpuii
nus articles which are misrepre
sented, and against which the pur
chaser has no recourse,

housewives of the community will
lend their cooperation In stamp
ing out this wll or tho transient
peddler, for ho not only talies from
the community the funds which
he collects, hut he nlno renders
little or no servlco In the delivery

theso goods has no way of know
ing whether or not the fronds are
ts represented, and after thoy are
purchased, the - peddler him left
the community, leaving behind
him the illssatlsfticlion of unwor
thy merchandise.
