PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 29. (A)
All grades ot outusp were higher
on loenl wholesale markets today
lel'lnctliiT a continued large de
mand and liKlit receipts. All grades ;
-were nuoieu a iuu cent ntgner ex
eeni extras which advanced halt1
a cent, liutterfat unylnK prices j
worn also quoted a cent higher on '
the basis ot 52 cents delivered In '
Portland. Print, butter advanced a:
cent tn 51 cents in symjiuthy with !
the rise in standard cubes.
ICufi- values were steady at yes
terday's advances and receipts
lighter than demand,
r wnilti-v markets were active anil
cleaned ill) early today. Receipts I
of all classes of chickens except !
Leghorn nens were Hunt and prices
firm.
Country dressed meats were gen
erally steady to firm with receipts
or veal still insufficient to satisfy
immediate demand. Prices were
not quntably higher, however.
There was little change in quo
tations on wholesale fruit and veg
etable marts and trading was rath
er tpiiet.
Peaches were in crenerous sup
ply and brought ti5(S75o por box
for lOlbertaa, Crawrords und Mnirs,
while .1. II. Hales went mostly at
Sl.riffil.35 per box.
Apples were also In more plen
tiful supply and showed a wide
range of price and quality. Rest
Hed Ciravenstelns from the Hood
Jiiver district went at $2.502.75
per box while other varieties rang
ed downward to $1.00(fP1.50 for
faced and filled offerings.
Onion prices were unchanged,
what few Walla Walla globes there
were being quotod at $2.00 2.25

yellow danvers were also obtain
able at about the same figures.
Harvest of the Lake Labish on
ion crop has started in a small
way. buyers report, nnd car load
ing is beginning to get under way.
(Irowers are receiving $1.50 nnd
sacks, reports say. It will bo an
other week before yellow danvers
start moving in any quantity, com

NEW YORK, Aug. 2fl. (P) Tlic
stock market went on another
"hull" rampage today under the
leadership of Radio Corporation!
common,, which soared nearly $13
i share to $201. Nearly two score j
individual Issues rallied SI lo $S aj
share to new high records, with
the average of 20 leading Industrial
issues, compiled by the Associated
Press, setting a new high record
fur nil time.
The mysterious Inflow of funds
into the call loan market in which
ihe expected "money pinch" failed
to develop was the chief factor
in the day's advance, although fav
orable trade and earnings reports
also played a big port. Countless
merger und dividend rumors were
eiictilated around Wall street and
over1 the brokerage wires to all sec
1 iuns of the country as buying or
ders poured into the market in
tremendous volume.
The tinker fell hopelessly be
hind the market, despite the use of
the abbreviated quotation system,
and early afternoon Indications
pointed lo n four million share ses
sion. Standing room was at a pre
mium In most of the big commis
sion ami wire houses, and visitors
.again flocked to the balconies of
, the stock exchange to witness the
greatest "bull" market since last
spring.
