Replace Vaudeville

Hunt's Craterian theatro was
forced to disappoint its regular
weekly vaudeville patrons today,
on account of rearranging 'their
tour this week's bill could not
arrive in time for their regular
showing. However this makes
only the second time In the past
three, years that Medford patrons
have had to miss their usual
vaudeville at Hunt's Craterian and
Manager Hunt is to be compli
mented on 'this splejidid record.
In place of the vaudeville today

James Appleton Morgan, lawyer
and authority on Shakespeare died
here today at the age of 83. Mr.
Morgan, who was president tff the
Shakespeare society of New York,
left u note among his papers re
questing that the Associated I 'rets
be notified of his death.
Mr. Morgan was horn In Port
land, Me. He was graduated from
Knelne. Wisconsin, college and
Columbia university law school.
Six yeurs after his graduation
from Columbia Mr. Morgan be
came associate counsel for the
Erie railroad. In 1 88f he retired
from professional practice to de
vote his time to writing.
Mr. Morgan developed a theory
that the Shakespearean plays as
printed In the folio were not
always strictly monographs hut the
work of many actors and stage
censors, improved constantly from
their original mounting by Shake
speure. In support of this he pub
lished the Banksldc edition of
Shakespeare in 20 volumes. He
wrote and edited books of law,
railway management and litera
ture. He founded tho Shakespeare so
ciety in 1S86 and served for many
years an its president. He was an
active member in several state his
torical, revolutionary nnd Mexican
war societies.
For the last ten years he had
been a resident of the horn" f-r
old men and aged couples in Man
