There were four women's bodies'

a favorite of an ancieni king. He j
removed the mummy to a place ,
where lie could make a, detailed j

the smooth skin, which even after j
all those years showed that it j
had been remarkably beautiful. (
The inscriptions on the tomb i

The man was .accompanied by a

H. Owen has. built. Dast week
M r. Owen, who is registered
at the Hotel Portland, went
out with his engineers to ex
amine a route for the con
struction of a seven-ml li
ex tension. The general route
which Mr. Owen is following
is one of those mapped out by
John II. Stevens of the CI real
Northern, a number of years
ago. There is a belief existing
In Medford that eventually
this logging road will be
hooked up witli the Northern
lines, and when that time
comes an outlet may be built
to Crescent City.
At his offices today, it was said
Mr. O w e n has m a d e a horse
back trip into the Hut to" Kails dis
trict last week to inspect timber,
and was' accompanied hy .. two
cruisers, and that the trip had no
connection with a "seven mile ex
tension." i.ast summer Mr. Owen spent
ten days in the timber, southeast
of Butte Falls, and reported "that
a railroad line could be built on an
easy grade from Klamath Falls to
Itutte Falls."
Mr. Owen is expected to be
called as a witness before the T. C.
C. hearing now in session at Tort
land, to testify to the amount of
timber tonnage available to a rail
road traversing the territory be
tween Klamath Falls and Crescent
City.
M r. Owen is expected back at
his desk in :i day or two.
