bulletin received by Dr, Inskeep
from the Oregon state hoard of
heulth, has often he mtstaken
for typhoid fever, particularly
where the disease has been of a
mild type. Danish authorities as
sert there are more cases of unrtu

mark and the number of cases In
the I'nitert States has increased re
markably in the past year because
of correct diagnosis of the disease.
The chief symptoms are loss of
appetite, loss of, weight, marked
weakness, headache, chills, fever,
profuse sweating ami frequently

duration of the illness from the
onset to convalescence Is three
monthR, but rases lasting a year or
longer are not uncommon. How
ever, the mortality is very low.
