Stephen Wilson had (ptllo an ex
perience Tuesday when a fire broke
out in the haystacks where he wrus
helping bale hay with his father's
and John N'ea Ion's haling outfit.
Some iilck work got the machin
ery, which was not insured, away
from the fire, but all efforts to save
the hay were fruitless and some
20 tons went up in flames. The
large farm in the Agate district
Is owned by a company and op
erated by PI Itoberls, and pro
duces hundreds of tons of hay every
year. Stephen reports that con.
siderable discomfort was experi
enced during the fire which was
added 1o by the extreme heat of
the afternoon, but after the ex
citement every one seemed reliev-
ed that no one suffered any in
jury, The H. Day family is en
joying a visit this week from Cali
fornia, relatives.
