HIT A SNAG IN
The clerks and carriers of the
Medford postoffice aro having dif
ficulty in selecting a delegate to
the annual convention of the Klate
Postoffice Clerks association and
the State Association of Letter
Carriers, and their auxiliary organ
izations, to be held Juno tint H in
Portland.
Inasmuch as C. M. Houston of
the postoffice staff Is secretary and
treasurer of the state clerks asso
ciation he Is sure to be one of the
delegates, Ipit the rub comes in
selecting another delegate. Last
week an election was held to select
this man, the clerks putting forth
Stanley Sherwood as their candi
date, anil tho curriers lining up be
hind C. O. Sandcn. A warm pre
liminary cumpalgn preceded this
election.
The election resulted In a tie.
ami this tie. the clerks claim, v-fs
caused by the carriers stuffing tho
ballot box. The carriers retaliate
by declaring that three of the
clerks were suffering from unusual
mental trouble during the election.
The tie still stands, lioth sides
