There are many changes to .go
into effect July 1st in postal rates
of various classes of rtiail matter,
and the official bulletin tellinu of
these chatiKrs, which for the most
part provide for. a reduction in the
present rates, has been received by
Postmaster Win. J. Warner, who
was busy today in studying the
lengthy bulletin explaining the
vurlotiM changes made by the re
cent congress. However," no offi
cial word has yet been received as
to the reduction in air mall pos
tage made by congress, or when It
goes into effect.
Probably the most Important
popular change ruIiik into effect
July 1st Is that the rate for send
ing a postcard vtll be one cent
Instead of two cents, us now.
A reduction is ii!m made In the
sending of -Ith class, or parcel post
matter. Fur local delivery of par
cel po.-t the new rate will be 7
cents for tho first pound, ami 1
cent for each additional pounds.
The various zone rates will be as
