party were movini; toward Houston
today, where a week from tomor
row they will be called upon to
settle numerous issues and select
candidates at (he national conven
tion. Among other things Clem Sha
ver, chairman of the democratic
executive enmmittee, wjio Has been
here for n week approving ar
rangements for the convention,
expected an invasion of farmers
'who were denied , admittance Into
the republican convention at Kan
sas City. .
"We cannot promise that their
every demand will be met but we
will give tho farmers an oppor
tunity to present their case,"
havor said.
The first formal event of the
convention will be a meeting of
the executive committee next Mon
day to settle possible contents over
delegates. Si far not a single con
test has been filed officially and
only one has been rumored, Shnver
said.

not been definitely determined who
will place the name of Oovernor
Smith In nomination at the demo
cratic convention at Houston next
week but that Franklin D. Hoose
velt remained the strongest possi

is leaving tomorrow for Wnrm
Springs, Vn., from where he will
go on to the convention and that
