posse of men from .Monroe and
rorvallls was out searching all day
.Sunday for two men who robbed

Monroe and the Southern Pacific

Sunday morning.

of the two automobiles they hud

They left a large amount of plun
der in a touring car outside the
store that was Identified and re
stored to the owners.
Mrs. Cass Martin, who lives
across the street from the More,
saw the men leaving with their
loot and notified the telephone op
erator, who in turn Immediately
telephoned the men of the town
The two men were surrounded, but
dodged out between their would-be
captors. Deputy Sheriff Carpen
ter shot at one of the fleeing rob
