INTERESTING FACTS
Traffic euunts taken by the state ;
highway depart men t during the I

ing fciets. An analyst of the past
year's traffic counts made by the
Oregon State Motor association j
shows that 15.3 perei-iu of the!
traffic of the slate was by cars of
foreign registration. (
This analysis shows that Oregon'
has attained iuite a record as a I
tourist state, as during the touring '
months of July and August foreign!
cars provided 27. 1M percent and I
2.1.13 percent of the total traffic!
of our highways. '
The major portion of our traffic, i
however, is by Oregon cars and !
this is shown conclusively by the j
fact that over the year Nil percent j
of the traffic is Jiy cars bearing
Oregon licenses.
The economic character of the,
traffic over Oregon t oads is em- i
phasized by the fact that over the I
yur 8.43 percent of all truffle over ,
the stale highways was by trucks, i
which brings to mind the tremen- '
dous gain made by this class of
transportation within the last few;
years. Truck volume falls off
materially on Sunday, and if only;
w'rk das are counted trucks fur- I
