On Wednesday, May 10th, nine
teen members of the Ashland
Study cluh and n few other friends
were guests of the Wednesday
Study club, at u one o'clock lunch
eon at the Medford Hotel. The
tables were set In the private din
ing room and were lovely wilh
baskets of azaleas, roses and other
spring flowers. Between courses,
Mr. M. N. Hognn plenned everyone
with a group of songs, accompan
ied on the piano by Mrs. W. M.
Vnn Scoyoe.
' After the luncheon, the company
went to the Guild hall whero n
pleasant social hour was followed
by. the presentation of Miss Helen!
Norris' radio drama, "Just Pbm
nfn" " by an "all stur" cast chosen
from the club's membership. Mrs.
A, J. Han try ns "Mrs. Hobbs" and
Mis. M. N. Hognn as "Bill ' were
perfect fn the leading roles, while
pretation of the kindly, under
standing family doctor and Mrs.
J. H. Crews was nxrellent as the
"Interested" nHghbor.
Kreryone regretted that Miss
Norris could not be present, but
her mother, Mrs. M. J. Norris was
a guest and in a few words ex
pressed appreciation for the loving

the American Legion Auxiliary
took place Monday evening. May

mothers of World War Veterans,
past presidents and charter mem
bers of the auxiliary.
Mrs. Burt Bryant and her com
mittee pinned beautiful red roses
on all mothers who had sons In the
service.
Mr. Cornwall, principal of the
Washington school, was Introduced
nnd spoke Interestingly upon his
torical topics, '
Karhryn Chancy presented pu
pils of the Washington school in a
pageant, each representing a his
torical character and each did
their parts very well Indeed.
The first president. Mrs. J. W,
Jacobs who was president night
years ago, opened the meeting Jnst
as It was done during her adminis
tration. The secretary at that
time, Mrs. Norma Martin, read
those eight year old minutes. The
vice president, Mrs. R. A. Holmes,

Bryant, chaplain. All the elected

how a meeting eight years ago was
conducted.
This being the eighth birthday
of the unit, these, first officers
