of a witness of the havoc which
Sunday's earthquake wrought at
Corinth.

shocks warned the people, who

"Suddenly a reverberating shock
threw us all off balance and we
fell to the ground. Buildings
tumbled to the ground with
series of terrible crashes. It was
all over In four or five seconds,

we staggered to our feet again.

men's cries gave place to a death
like silence. An we turned our
eyes upon the city, short circuits
brought flashes from the electric
