HILLINGS John Hillings, aged
55 years of age. passed away In
this city Wednesday, April IK,
1928, due to Injuries received In an
accident.
He was born In Cacanada,
111.,
Nov. 1 3th, 1872
In 1900 he was
married to Minnie Henton In Ulllii,
111-, then came to Oregon nnd
resided In Portland for a short
time when they came to Aledford.
Mr. Hillings owned and operated
what was known as the Hillings
Carringe Works, until about two
years ago, since which he had
owned and operated Hilarity hall.
Hostile his sorrowing widow, he
leaves three children, Rose, Ruth
and Newman, all at home: his
mother. Airs. Harriett Billings of
Missouri; one brother und five
sisters, all of whom are in the
eastern states. He was a member
of Aledford W. o. W. lodge and
Lions club of Medford.
uneral services will be con
ducted from the Conger funeral
parlors Friday, April 20th, at 2 p.
Rev. Win. H. Hamilton will
have charge of services and com
mittment services; will be in the
Medford Mausoleum.

The American Legion Auxiliary
party held in the Armory Tues
day night was perhaps one of the I
best attended benefit functions
of that organisation's social cal
endar this year. Tho club rooms!
In the armory were decorated in
lilacs und Japanese roses. Cards
were played throughout the after
noon and again in the evening.
Airs. Charles Mac Dona Id held
high score In the afternoon bridge
game, while Airs. Ernest Scott
held low score. In the evening.
