these one of the most notable is
the hydraulic braking s y s t e m
which Chrysler was the first to
introduce into the moderate price
automobile field.
"The ( 'hrysler-Lock heed system
is simplicity Itself. No lubrication
is necessary. There are no rod,
springs or devices, and no me
chanical equalizers. The fluid
which operates the brakes is con
tained in the cylinders and brake
lines: it reserve supply is carried
in n small tank which is connected
in the master cylinder. I 'res.su re
on the foot pedal is transmitted in
full force to the brakes through
the liquid in the cylinder and line-.
The pedal pressure is applied
against all four brake cylinders in
equal degree through the opera
tion of the elementary law of
physics that the pressure exerted
upon any portion of a fluid en
closed in a vessel is transmitted,
undiminished, equally to all sul

"One of the salient advantages
claimed for the Chrysler hydraulic
brakes Is that they always equalize
perfectly and automatically with
out constant adjustment or the use
of any equalizing device or me
chanical means.
