local citizens. Driving to Ashland, the

was taken through Uthia park, which
they declared to equal any in the way
of beauty they had ever seen.

Harry McIMroy, 2C. found entity by
a jury in the circuit court Tuesday
afternoon of an indictment charging
robbery, pleaded guilty to a second
similar charge Wednesday afternoon
and was sentenced to state prison
terms of seven and thre years.
McKh oy was accused by Richard
Dunn. Jr., of Oakland, Calif., of act
ing as a Fit gin in a series of store
till robberies in southern Oregon and
Calif ornia d urine the month of No
vember. The pair were traveling In
an auto stolen by young Dunn in a
suburb of Oakland.
McKlroy was found guilty of the I
robbery of tho cash register of the

guilty to an indictment accusing him

The civil damage suit of Sol C.
Stone, a citizen of Josephine county,
vs. Ci P. Riehsteln of Medford, was
tried" before a jury In the circuit
tj court yesterday afternoon and result
ed In a speedy verdict for the defend
ant, Riehsteln.
The transaction grew out of a log
ging contract on the lands of the plain
tiff, who sought to recover treble dam
ages for alleged violations of the con
tract In cutting yew wood trees and
timber under the specified size. The
jury found for Rlchstein upon the first
ballot.
Jesse Johnson of Grants Pass rep
resented the plaintiff and K. K. Kelly
of Medford, appeared for tho depend-nut.
