the firo department arrived the entire
lower floor of the two storv house was
ablaze, casting a lurid llKht thronh
the windows. An hour later the fire
was out. -
According to Mr. flalone. hj had
hitllt the morning, fire nnd had re
turned to bed for several minutes,
when the blaze was discovered. The
flames spread, rapidly because of the
papered walls, and whilo escaping the
flames Mrs. -M alone, mother of Mr.
Mnlone. suffered sinccri hair while
ins wnn escaped uutiurt. .
The Interior of the house, with It
furnishings, Is a total loss... The nron.

nt present Is In California, but who,
while here lives on the upper floor

Thn prevailing fog was so dense
that the fire department could not dis
cern tho flames until they, had arrived
on the scene.
Numerous auto wrecks that were
never reported to authorities, as pre
scribed by law. took place over the
week-end because of the prevailing
dense fog and slippery pavements. .
According to reports filed at the:
police, station,-W. P. Andrews collided
with nn unidentified motorist on Main
street Saturday afternoon, while the
cars of R. E. Koozer and Fred Cook
collided on the same street that night
at 10 oclock. Lawrence Adams
ported a wreck on the Crater Lake
highway Satnrday night with another
unidentiffed mntoriat, and at Central
Point, Oeorge Wolff suffered a colli
sion with a Medford school teacher
while another turned turtle near the
Jackson Hot Springs.
