sity of Washington, foremost on the
Pacific coast in football and Dart
mouth college, out hi front in the east,

No invitation had heen extended to
any team, it was stated here. This
matter is being handled for the Pa
cific coast intercollegiate conference

at the University of Oregon. If
Washington is invited, the invitation
win not be considered, it .was learned,
until after a game with Oregon here
Thanksgiving day that ends, the
Husky season. The decision rests
with the players, but they were re
ported practically r unit in feeling
that if they completed their claim to
the Pacific coast championship by de
feating Oregon it would be incumbent
upon them to reprosent the coast
against the east if colled upon to do so,

was received with shocked horror.

Company Visits Here

Maytag "Washing Mju-hino company,
accompanied by Charles H. Dong,
Maytag manager for the Pacific
toast, stopped in Medford Saturday
for a business conference with Mor
ris Leonard; manager of the local
Maytag shop. Both Mr. Maytag and
Mr. Long were gratified with the
sales record -made -by their southern
Oregon distributors and 'optimisti
cally predicted a busy holiday and
winter business here and through-"
out the Pacific coast.
According to Mr. Maytng the plant
manufacturing the famous Maytag
Washing machines is producing 900
machine daily and in the near fu
ture, will Increase production to 1500
washers dally. At the present time
1400 men are employed in the May
lag plants.
