Three alleged inebriates were ar
rested yesterday on the city streets by
city police, while a fourth was arrest
ed the day day before. Two forfeited
ciiKh bails by non-appearance in the
city police court, and two were sent
out of the city.
John Ituckley forfeited a $15 cash
ball and II. Crltchlow a 10 cash ball,
while Waltfr Hewitt, an alleged can
ned heat addict, and Harry Of Ulan
wero ordered out of town. Hewitt was
arrested by (hlef of Police Adams
while attempting to board the "binds"
of a northbound passenger train last
evening.

Tho Chllders building will be built
of reinforced concrete Immediately
adjoining tho Modern Plumbing and
Sheet Metal Works building and will
have one storeroom 8 7, feet long and
40 feet wide.
With this building in the course of
construction, but one building lot is
left unoccupied in tho l'ago corner
and upon this, it Is understood, plans
arc now under way to erect another
concrete structure.

The freight ralo committee of tho
Portland Chambnr of Commerce has
secured the granting by tho American
Kx press company, it was announced
today by Secretary Hoyl of the Cham
ber of Commerce, of a special expross
rate effective December 5, next,
whereby the shipment of dried prunes,
nuts, apples and canned goods will be
allowed In one package at the lowest
express rate.
"There are sonio stores," Bald Sec
retary lioyl, "and many Individuals
who will he glad to know, of this, hh
ft has been difficult in the past to
send a combined package to eastern
friends under the old rulings nnd we
think this will greatly aid in putting
these specialized products In the
hands of many consumers iu tho big
markets."
