James Stevens With
Clewiston Company
The first booklets telling of Clewis
ton. in southern Florida, being pro
moted by the president of (lie Celotex
company and associates, have been
received in Medford. The booklet is
a work of art, giving illustrations of
the beauties as well as the resources
of that section and telling of its hopes
and prospects of the future.
Clewiston Is located on the beauti
ful Lake Okeechobee, claimed to be
the second largest fresh water lake in
the United States, and the Celotex
company will invest several million
dollars in land and a factory there.
James Stevens, who waB formerly a
resident of Medford, is with the com
pany in the development of Clewiston.
Mrs. Stevens recently left Medford to

Court Action Halted
The hnheas corpus proceedlnps of
Myrtle Alary Helm against William
Clyde flclm, for the body of Teola
Jottephine Helm, aged three years,
was dismissed In the circuit court
Thursday afternoon. It was alleged
thnt Helm took the child from its
home in this city last Saturday night
and placed it with friends north of
Central Point, Informing the mother

OBITUARY
DENHAM Jamos Franklin Denliam
was born April 19. 1853, In Saline
county, Missouri, the son of George
W. and Emily Denlmm. His early life
was spent on his father's farm and
his education was limited during his
growing period, but after attaining
manhood he took a course in the
Klrkvllle Normal school, thus receiv
ing quite a finished education. In
1879 Mr. Denham went to Marysvllle.
Cal., where he worked four years, and
then to Rocklyn, Wash.. In the Dig
I lend country, remaining there until
1909. Sixteen years ao.he came to
Talent and was married in 1910 to
Mrs. Cora V. Tumor, undtfo this union
one child was born, Juines Franklin
Jr., who Is now 14 years of age. There
are no other living relatives.
