chiiiparel, which is public land. Tho
witness also testified that ho had ro-celvo-1

the name of Geppcrt, who "told me to
get off or he would put me off."
The witnesB testified: "This made
me kind of mad, and I told him to
come down nnd put me off; 1 would
ho waiting for him."
Nothing came of the conversation.
The horso and cattle association
contend that the land is exclusively a
cattle range and has been for (10 years
nnd mat sheep ranging on tho same

Tho defense contend that they had
permission of the agent of tho owner
of the land to graze sheep.
Anderson, questioned about an al
leged proposition he made to flus
Nichols of Eagle Point, a stockman
nnd member of tho association, that
he would remove his sheep if the asso
ciation would drop the suit, said It
was made "to keep down trouble."
Nichols, the witness said, referred him
to officers of the association. "They
want more than tho court would pos
sibly give them, so the mutter was
ended," he concluded.
