The show tonight will start with a
mimical program hy the HouglaH

appear in the following order:

ladles' three-gait i'd saddle horses,
four in hand, lightweight hunters,
gentlemen's five gal ted saddle horses,
fine harness horses (single), musical
chairs.
Another super-attraction this year
is the floral-exhibit with a third more
entries than ever before. Tommy
Luke of Portland is again superinten
dent. The judges are Felix Kosnla
and (I. C. Cooper of Seattle and Sam
Forshaw of Pendleton. The show is
put on this year entirely by the pro
fessional florists of the state. The
display of. dahlias and gladiolus is
unusually gorgeous.
Today is grange and -womaiWs day
at the fair, with various features on
the program arranged accordingly.
At ten o'clock this morning a moving
li let il re entitled "bees, how they live
and work," was shown hy Professor
H. A. Sen lien of Oregon Agricultural
college. A new musical organization
appearing on the grounds today Is
the Kiltie band from Tacoma. which
will play at Intervals throughout the
day. The official musical organiza
tion of the state fair, the Douglas
County Concert band, will make sev
eral appearances aside from Its work
at the race track In the afternoon.
A novel event Is slated for . 1:15
o'clock when 75 homing pigeons will
be released 1n front of the grandstand
hy the Flying Pigeon club -of Port
land. In the racing program of the nftor
noon the 2:15 trot and 2:25 pace will
be featured.
