A VOTE FOR WATER SYSTEM, wk&& A VOTE FOR
PROSPERITY. 00 . O
A
CITY can lie no greater than its water supply. All the natu
ral 9iOiirce8 injhe world profit notliiiiifuiiless there is pure
water and plenty of it. That is why cities like Los Angeles, Sun
Francisco, I'ortlnm! and Seattle, have Hpciit hundreds of wfllior.s,
and eonstrueted pipe lines hundreds of miles away, so that their
growth could not he limited by inadequate water.
Medford today is growing and prosperous, but it has about
reaehed the limit of its present water supply. Aceirdin to the re
cent water survey, even if the
far as quality is emieerned, whieli

As a mailer of business neeessity, therefore, tho only question
before the people of .Medford is
water system now, or wait u few years when the issue will be im
mediate construction or certain disaster.
The report of Messers Kenny and Dillard shows why a new sys
tem should be constructed now: "
If P.Ik Butte Springs be now selected nnd beneficial use nbo
muflt of tho water at an early date, the city will thereby secure a
, source of pure water supply, which has a minimum flow of 45
sec. feet with an Immediate nnd definite right to 35 sec. feet for
average yearH and 25 sec. feet mlnum. The rights to the full 45
sec. feet can at uny time in the future bo made good.
'In other words, if action is not taken now,- there is dancer of
losinj Medford 's right to this invaluable supply, through non-use.
Does anyone, seriously advocate taking such a risk, when it is
generally agreed that in a few years a new water system must be
built anyway ?
The people of Hertford should vote these bonds now, so that tho
city may go forward to continued
