of certain charter amendments to the
people at said election and making
provision for said election.
WHEREAS the City Council has
adopted resolutions proponing certain
charter amendments to be referred
to the people, which said resolutions
are numbered 65 and 66; and
WHEREAS it is necessary that a
special election he called to vote on
said amendments andthat provision

ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Resolutions numbered
65 and 66 shnll be filed forthwith with
I the City Recorder for submission to
the lgl voters of the City of Med-

called for that purpose.

hereby called to be held In the City
of Medford, on Thursday, the 8th
day of October. 1925, for the purpose
of submitting to the legnl voters the

tion of moving the county seat being
put to a vote of the people of Jack
son County ut tho next general elec
tion. And Whereas It la necessary for tho
peace, health nnd safety of the City
of Medford and the inhabitants there
of that tho waiving of penalty nnd in
terest under certain circumstances set
forth In tho charter amendment to be
voted upon, be authorized at ns early
a date as possiblo in order to close up
the present delinquencies on assess
ments. And Whereas it Is necessary for tho
peace, health and safety of the City
of Medford, and the Inhabitants there
of that the additional two mill levy set
forth in tho chnrter amendment to be
voted upon, bo provided at as early
a stage as possible on account of tho
present conditions of both tho dirt and
paved st roots, and tho need of increas
ed facilities for fire, sewer and water
main protection to its inhabitants.
And Whereas it in necessary for
tho pence, health and safety of tho
City of Medford. nnd tho inhabitants
thereof, that the overlapping terms of
councllmen set forth In the charter
amendment to bo voted upon, be pro
vided at us early a date as possible on
account of the fact that nt present
It has heretofore been found neces
sary to elect all new councllmen at
one time, none of whom were familiar
with the city's business.
And Whereas it is necessary for tho
peace, hoalth and safety of the City of
Medford, and the inhabitants thereof,
that the confirming of the titles of the
United States set forth in tho ordi
nances to bo voted upon be provided
at as early a date as possible, on ac
count of the fact that tho acceptance
of said conveyances and tho approval
of tho titles to said lots by the govern
ment will dopend on tho ratification
and confirmation of the acts of he
city council; and It Is necessary to
enact this ordinance In calling an
olectlon to vote upon said questions;
