Kills Lacy, 13, of Ashland will face
charges of larceny arising from
thievery, they are alleged to have
committed in differtuit homos in that
city. The action will shortly bo filed.
The four boya nro alleged to have
stolen furniture from the homes of
Guy Good and Verne Templer, part
of which was later recovered in the
Lacy home. Many articles that could
be- burned were destroyed in a heat
ing stove, while the rest of the loot
was found scattered promiscuously
about the house, local officials claim
M rs. Eva Saxton and M rs. Osslc
Bennett, alleged to have taken part
in the thieving, were given a prelim
inary hearing in Judge Taylor's court
yesterday and because of lack of evi
dence their cases were dismissed.
Chief of Police McNabb of Ashland,
a state witness, was unable to attend,
while, the . expected testimony of
another witness did not materialize.
"The whole affair," said District
Attorney Chaney this morning, "will
be turned over to the action of the
next grand Jury." .
The boys are at liberty on their
own recognizance with the exception
of Clyde who is In .the city jail at
Ashland.
H. Wheaton, 21. charged with
larceny from a dwelling, was also
given a preliminary hearing : before
Judge Taylor yesterday. His case was
turned over to the next session of the
grand jury.
He is alleged ito have stolen several
articles of furniture, including a large
mirror, and to have sold them to a
Front ; street second hand store, re
ceiving (15 In remuneration., Ray
Scott, the proprietor, at yesterday's
hearing identified Wheaton as the
man selling him the furniture alleged
tq .hae been stolen-from -a country
residence some time ago.
