FOR SENATORS
NKW YORK. Sept. . (A. P.)
Two straight .victories or Washing
ton over Philadelphia seem to make
it eerluln that Washington and Pitts
burg will play In the world's series.
The Senators are snugly lodged on the
pinnacle of the American league by a
margin of fine and one-half garnet,
and the Athletics have lost eight
HI might.
The veteran spltbaltcr, Stanley Co-
veleskle, started for the Hcnators; lie
won, 8 to 6. The Athletics started to '
pound "Covey" in the seventh and !
eighth innings and forced him to re- i
tiro In favor of achary in the last i
frame.
Pittsburg is making the National I
league race a runaway affair. The
Pirates chalked up their eighth vic
tory In a row by trimming the Heds.
