or towed to the service station without
charge to the member.
Should a member's car become dis
tillled or wrecked outside the limits of
a designated zone, a distnncc not to
exceed 25 miles from the location of
the service station, the member will
pay for the service at the rate of Sl.fiO
per hour, time lo he computed from
the time service car leaves the sta
tion and returns to the same point. In
wich Instances members will he cred
ited with .'to minutes roadside repairs,
however, and for the time consumed
connect Ions, or any minor repairs
which can he completed within a pe
riod of 30 minutes. Included In thin
service is the changing of tires for
lady members or UMy numbers of n
member's family when unaccompa
nied by a male companion. Tire
changing service will not be accorded
to a man physically able to change n
tire himself.
When tire changing service Is rie-
l sired, however, H will only he given

If the car is so badly damaged It
cannot be safely operated under lis
own power to a place of shelter or
cannot be towed on Its own four wheels
or on two of Its wheels, by using a
crane or dolly, and must be transport
ed oil a truck, such service will he
charged for at regular rates. Where
the member carries Insurance cover
lug the damage to his car he must pay
the service station at regular rates ami
then collect from the Insurance com
pany. If a member's car stops nnd ennnot
he started because of some mechani
cal trouble, when on the street or
highway, a service car will he prompt
ly dispatched to the place directed and
nny minor troubles, which make It
Impossible for the automobile to he
operated, will he adjusted. If. such
adjustments ennnot be completed
within 30 minutes, however, then dis
abled car will he towed to service sta

The State Senate
Ralph Cowgill, who has served two
terms in the lower house of the Ore
gon legislature, announces that he will
he n republican candidate for the
senate nt the May primary to succeed
Oeorge Dunn, whose term expires with
the next regular session of the legis
lature. Mr. Dunn has nut announced
whether or not he will he! a candidate
for re-election.
William (Iriggs Jr. has announced
ns n candidate for the legislature to
succeed Mr. Cowgill, and John Carkin
will be a candidate to succeed himself
and his supporters says has a splendid
chance of being chosen speaker If reelected.

Louise :. Merritt, charges cruelty,
alleging Unit the defendant "wrote
endearing letters lo a certain Med
ford man, whose name plaintiff will
divulge, if defendant desires," that
the care of three minor ..children
was neglected, and that plaintiff was
forced to cook his own meals.
It Is charged specifically "that
upon several occasions, when the
plaintiff returned home tired from
work, he has found the defendant,
gently reclining on a lounge reading
a hook, and when he politely asked
if she was going to prepare said
meal, was cursed, and ordered to
cook it himself." '
The couple were married at Derhy,
February 7,'- 1!M1, and have four
children, whose custody and an ab
solute, decree , the plaintiff aHks.

To Meet September 14
The Board of Equalization, com
posed of the county Judge, assessor
and county clerk will meet at .Jack
sonville Monday, September 14, when
the tax rolls for the year will bo
considered and approved, and pleas
and prayers of taxpayers heard and
acted upon.
The deputy assessors have com
pleted the field work, and the offieo
force Is now making and checking
the rolls. '
