Further differences between " mil-

central Oregon woro developed be
fore 'the interstate commerce com
mission today when tho Orecon
Trunk railroad tentatively assumed a.
hostile position to tho plan of the
Central Pacific to build 40 miles o
lino- from Klnmalh Falls, Ore., to
Cornell, -Cal.
Tho OreKon Trunk declared ' Its
own proposal to 1 extend' u railroad
from Mend, Ore., to Klumath Falls,
would be1 nffcctcil by tho Central
Pacific's plan.
"The Oregon Trunk desires tu In
vestigate and dotcrmlne whether a
lino of railroad, extending southeast

territory referred to In the appllca

with existing lines in California
would be Justified," the declaration
said.
V'It believes that the applicant (the
Central Pacific) should not ho given
permission to build a 40-mile exten

erly if the granting' of. tho applica
tion would adversely affect the con
sideration of a future application for
the right to build another lino of

Oregon Trunk desires a hearing upon
