DON'T throw away those pretty,
highly decorated candy and
cake boxes of .tin. They have
some very practical uses when
empty as well as being decorative
ornaments in the room. You don't
often even find a glaring advertise
ment on them any more, which
makes them all the more valuable
for "catch-alls." ,
The large tin candy boxes, round
and oblong in shape, anu beauti
fully ojee orated, make quite as good
fancy-work rcccptablcs as did the
Chinese baskets confectioners were
using two or three years ago. Even
better, for if one is going to spend
the summer at the seas' ore, or is
going abroad, there is nothing
equal to a tin box that will keep
out dampness and prevent the scissors,-needles
and other metal from
rusting. ".
Then there a the boxes for ihc
- dresser or the dresser, drawer. With
the aid of a little satin, perhaps a
quilted remnant from the crap bag,
one of these boxes may be lined for
a jewel case, while another may be
lined and scented for handkerchiefs
arid gloves.
