dent that the army and navy air ser
vices nre growing in efficiency and
at present are in a satisfactory condi
tion. Confidential information which has
reached the executive has convinced
hint that the work of developing the
nlr service in both army and navy is
progressing most satisfactorily and
there is no cause for alarm that a
hight state of efficiency is not being
reached.
The president regards Major Gen
eral Patrick, whoso re-appointment
as chief of the army air service has
be'en forecast in Washington, as an of
ficer of ability, who has rendered con
scientious service in developing mili

(A. P.) Nino persons were se
verely bruised, and shocked yester
day when ' a Pennsylvania 'bridge
train due hero at 3:00 p. m., was
derailed just inside tho cily limits
soon after crossing the drawbridge
at Thoroughfare. Nino coaches of
the twelve-coach train .were derailed.
-, James A. Flaherty, supremo knight
of the Knights of Columbus, Atlantic
City, who had just returned today
from Ireland, was injured.
The cause pt the derailment is be
lieved due to a defect in ono of the
wheels of one of the rear chair cars
which left the track first. Only tho
engine - and . first few coaches were
left on the track.
