In it cross-complaint td his wife's
divorce suit, filed in the circuit court
Thursday, Victor Brown of Kerby,
Josephine county, places the blame
for domestic storms on "agricultu
ral conditions," and aks that Hester
B. Urown be not granted her prayer
for a decree of divorce. ' I
Relative to maintenance and suit
money, requested by his mate, Urown
avers "plaintiff Is In good nealtn,
and earns as good wages as defend

suit and maintenance, as well as de
fendants" I
Brown sets forth that after their
marriage, he and his wife went to
live on his father's farm and stock
ranch near Kerby, Oregon, with the
verbal understanding, and thut when I
mortgage of $5000 and the (10,700 I
purchase price of the farm was '
paid, he was "to receive the surplus
and the farm and equipment there
of." The answer says the low prlco

suits being "Just a living."
Brown further 'claims that his I
wife's actions In leaving hlin three
times, "IS due't6 restlessness and dis

was building a separate dwelling
when divorce nation Was' filed, and
"that my wife Is a liberty to come

.. Mrs. Brown, in her suit, charged
''cruel and inhuman treatment," and
"that she was nothing but a slave or
a servant to her mother-in-law," and
that she. was compelled to do manual

featuro of the recent annual encamp

in thi.C city, was an automobile cara
van',' arranged' by the people of Med
ford, by which about 2200 National
Guardsmen' were taken to -Crnter
Lake There -were- 48T cars In "the
caravan,, which It Is claimed was not
only the largest that ever entered a
'national park, both as to the number
of cars and people, but one of the
largest of any kind on tho Paalflo
coast.
Medford, being a city of ' 10,000',
feels rather proud of the fact that It
' could take carq of 2200 people In' this
ay, supplying them' absolutely free'
