WILD HORSES OF PUGET j
SOUND SHIPPED EAST
OLY5fPIA, "Wash., July 11 (A. P.)
9 Indicating 'a possible Bhortnge of
horse flesh In the bhie grass state,
A. R. Campbell, a merchant of Howell.
Ky., hus requested biological survey
- officials here to ship him two car
loads of wild ponies from the ranges
9 of eastern Washington. '
Mr. Campbell has learned through
Associated Press reports, he declares,
: that the ponies are so numerous In
IVashUgton that an enterprising real
' dent of the Horse Heaven country is
serving them as hog feed and Inti
mates that while horses may be con
sidered "back numbers" in the far
west, they still find favor in old Ken
tucky. He offers about $2 over the
hog feed price for 3-year olds, or $5
each, provided they are In good flesh.
Since the ponies are so wild that
.Jew of them have ever been branded,
Kfentucky riders would probably ex
Jperlence some decidedly new thrills
