ST. PAUL, .Minn., June 8. Tommy
Gibbons returned to his home here
late last night from New York and
declared ho would Heek a return
match soon with Gene Tunney of New
York, who knocked out the St. Paul
veteran in tho twelfth round Friday
riight.
Tommy said he would rest about a
month boforc plunging again into his
quest of the world's heavyweight box
ing championship. The first knock
out of his career has "not" convinced
him that he is through as a successful
fighter, the St. Paul boxer said.
"I do not thtnk I have gone back a
single step," Gibbons asserted. "1
plan to rest for a month nntl then to
ask Tunney for a return mutch. 1
want to test myself once more and
then If 1 fail I shall retire. But I
would never bo satisfied to Quit now.
"I fought a bad. fight against , a
good man."
As soon as Gibbons alighted from
the train here he hurried to a local
hospital where Mrs. Gibbons has boen
seriously" ill. ' Worry over her condi

here to have Veen responsible for
Tommy's poor showing . against
