The city council last night after
canvassing the vote cast at last Sat
urday's annexation special election,
which was lost by a small majority,
decided to give the territory east of
the city limits another chance to be
annexed at another special election
to be held next month.
This action was taken after hear
ing from a committee of eastern su
burbanites consisting of Win, Vaw
ter. Dr. J. D. Kk-kert and S. M.
Heott, who presented a petition sign
ed by almost all property owners in
the east section out beyond the city
reservoir.
The granting of this request for
the section named- was In a line
with the council policy decided on
since the election of last Saturday
of letting each district work out Its
own salvation In the matter of an-
York children's court presiding at nexation. In other words If a cer
tain district can show the city ad
ministration that It has threshed out
the matter among is own citizens
and can give positive assurance that
It wants to bo annexed, the adminis
tration will order a special election
the session nald he did not know
that such conditions existed.
Governor C C Moore of Idaho,
ad dressing the conference yester
day, said he offered his state as a
refugee for "tho homeless children
of the congested cities of the east." and do Its part.
