Masterpiece May 22
Gporpe M. Cohan never produced
anything funnier than "So This Is
London," the comedy with nn inter
mit .mini appeal, at Hunts Craterlan
theater Krhlay nUht, May 22m,
The plot lias lieen cleevrly conceived
and is carried out In most logical fash
ion. It Is based upon the misunder-
.standinKa on the part of Britishers re-
KardiiiK people and things American,
and the Yankee's misconception of
the I'.nKllnhninn's point of view when
ho visits London. It has proved Just
as amusing to the son of John Uull as
to 1,'ncle .sam's nephews right here at
home.
The situations -have n distinctly
Cohanesquo tinge. They nro repre
sented as exceeding! droll, the dialogue
humorous and witty, and throughout
tho three nets way. Tho contrast af
forded by the chiiracterlmtion of Sir
Percy Ileauchamp, a member of tho
Hritish peerage, and Hiram Draper, an
American captain of industry, forms
the basis for much of the laughter
with which the play abounds.
