COMMUNICATIONS Will Poison Children Next, ' ' To tho Editor: ' : . The people -living on Vancouver street and Portland avenue, aro very much aroused1 over the poisoning of pet dogs and cats which has been go ing on for some time, bitt lately, the number of the cases has been such that it is known there is some one who is trying to get rid of them all. The latest case was this morning, of a blooded fox terrier, with a litter of pups, belonging to Mr. Ilnrger. The one before that, a little over a week ago, was Mr. Hermanson's English Pit bull dog, for which ho is offering a hundred dollars reward. The samo week Mr. Hooker's pet terrier was poisoned. Thisdog was kept at home, and Mr. Hermanson's was kept on a leash. Just previous to this, a pet terrier belonging to Mi West wns poisoned. This was a pet of Mrs. West, an invalid, and her two small children. Their pet kitten also. About a month ago. Mr. Lew's thoroughbred shepherclv kept confined most of the time, was poisoned, also a Persian kit ten. One thing that has aroused the peo ple, besides the killing of their pets, is. that four of the poisoned dogs had been fed cooked meat and as there are a good' many small children play-. Ing around, it is feared that some child may pick up some that has been thrown out. One mother snld this morning that she was afraid to let her two small children out in the yard, for fear that some moat had been thrown In the yard during, the night. The authorities should bend every effort to locate this poison or, for ho is a, potential murderer. '(Signed) L. R., a looser of a pet.
