Air. Carter came near having a very

San Francisco, about 25 miles , the
other side of Dunamuir he lost con
trol of the car . and to keep from
goine over a 300-foot bank, he turn
ed the car to a bank. The car over
turned, but fortunately they were
not injured yery badly. Mrs. Car
ter's mother, who was with them,
received a bad cut on her wrist and
three fingers were cut off by 'glass,
and she was taken to the hospital in
Dunsmuir and will remain until able
to continue her Journey on the train.
Mr. and Mrs. Carter are on their
way to Taconia, where they will re
side. Borni to Mr. and Mrs. John Ka
than of Evans Valley, twin boys on-
April 14. The little fellows were not
strong and one passed away six
hours after birth and the other only,
lived three or four days.- Mr. and
Mrs. Kathan have the sympathy of

and his friends are anxious for his
speedy recovery.1
