farmers conference at Medford as
many of our farmers -have lost faith
in the O. A. C. cures which generally
consist of a program calling for heav
ier production of -farm products. Far
mers all agree that their sole remedy
would be in the lowering of the. prices
of what they must buy or the raising
of prices on what they produce. - - .
Rev. Maxfield who has been a regu
lar attendant of. our -Sunday school
this winter preaohed an excellent ser
mon after the close of Sunday school
on Feb. 10. Which was followed by
many persons "hitting the sawdust
trail.' there being1 ten or twelve at
this meeting going to the front and
accepting Christ as their guide in the
future. This Is a remarkable showing
considering that this community has
long been known as one of the hard
est sections in which to get converts,
and many a preacher after a hard
two weeks drive has "shook the dust
from his feet" and departed without
obtaining a single conversion. Let
the good work go on. The next pro
grant at the school house which will
be Friday night wiH be in the form of
a minstrel show.
At the stockholders meeting of the
Southern Oregon Clny Products Cp.

Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Dalo of Powers,
are visiting Mrs. Dale's sister, Mrs.
Wralter Allen in North Talent. They
made a trip over to Ruch last week
but found their brother, Frank lilee,
down with measles and could not go
into the home with their small chil
dren, so-had to come back.
Mr. and Mrs, H. G. -Shearer of Med
ford were visiting at the home of your
correspondent in North Talent last
Sunday. Mr. Shearer is well pleased
with tho prospect of a good crop of
alfalfa on his little ranch in this

home place just under the ditch on
the west edge of Phoenix, is intending
to sell out and return to Myrtle creek
where he formerly lived. ,
