. CHICAGO, Fob. 27. Ed (Strangler),
Lewis, worliVa champion heavyweight
wrestler, and Rereree Pat Magill wore
escorted from the ring by policemen
last night arter Magm awarded the
deciding fall to Lewis in a match with
Stanislaus Zbyszko, veteran Pole, who
was struck and knocked unconscious
by Lewis. (
1 Admirers of Zayszko, who took the
econd fall after Lewis had taken the
first, expressed loud disapproval and
surged about the ring. After the bout
Lewis and Zzyszko shook hands, but
later followers of the Pole credited
him with an assertion that Lewis
struck him on the jaw with his closed
fist.., Referee Magill explained that
the Pole had been heeled with Lewis'
open hand and that such tactics were
permissable under tho rules.
Lewis won the first fall in 24.25
with a headlock. . Zbyszko employing
i armlocks continually, took tho second
in 7:30 with a short arm scissors,
jn tfie third and deciding fail, Zbysz-
;! brought Lewis to the mat numerous
times with the armlock, but the cham
pion each time managed to break the
holds. , While down the last time,
Lewis reached up his right hand and
the Pole's head struck the canvas
with a thud. The champion quickly
applied a front hoadlock and was
awarded the fall and the match by
Magill.
