ATLANTA, Giw Feb. 15. Suspen
sion of William Joseph Simmons from
the Knights Kamelia, an affiliated
order of the Ku Klux Klan, was an
nounced today by.. H. Tom Knight,
secretary of the Knights Kamelia, ac
cording to a story appearing in the
Atiama journal.
Colonel Simmons also has been
notified of the Kamelia's Intention to
banish him on charges of high treason
against the order, the article declared.

Gilmore, who formerly lived at Hogiie
River, will regret to lenrn of his
death this wcok at, the home of his son
In Chicago, where the Judge went
shortly after the death of his wife
about two years ago. ' , ;
The judge was a pioneer of Wood
stock, III., and was very prominent in
political judicial circles In that state,
being one of the old school.
He lived on a ranch near Rogue
River for several years and was an
active member of the republican conn
ey central committoo and was a, mem
ber of the Presbyterian church.

ELKS CONVENTION
PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 15. Exalt
ed Ruler Harnett H. Goldstein of the
local lodgo of the Benevolent and
Protective Order of Elks today sent a
telegraphic Invitation to the grand
lodge of the order at Chicago extend
ing an Invitation for the grand lodge
to hold Its 1925 convention in Port
land. The Invitation was based on a
report of-- the special committee ap
pointed .by the exalted ruler to con
sider the ndvisabitity of Inviting the
Elks to come here. Local officials fit
the order said that the Invitation is
certain to receive favorable considera
tion by the grand lodge.

To Destroy Earwig
SHATTIiE, Feb. 15. A quantity of
iachinld flies have been rocelvod by
Professor Trevor Kincaid of the Uni
versity of Washington from the
United States governmental labora
tories In France. They will be used to
destroy the earwig.
The newly arrived Iachinld flies are
small parasites of grayish lino and
about one-fourth as largo as the aver
age house fly, declared Professor Kin
caid. The' flies attack the earwig
'.through its second generation, laying
Its eggs on the body of the earwig.
When the eggs hatch the earwig host
is destroyed by the young, being eaten
as food.
