A new addition to the Swiss Chalet
at the Oregon Caves resort is to be
added this spring. Work is tostart
on-the new part of the building soon,
tha hew section to bd-50 feet long on
the side toward' tho parking place.
This will allow the present dining
room to be enlarged to a room 24 by
30 feet, with a special dining room for
the employes and .help at the Caves.
Jt Is also planned to have electric
power generated for lighting the tent
houses and resort buildings for the
summer. The number of tent houses
will be doubled with' the .possibility of
adding one or two cottages. Many
other Improvements are contemplated
for the coming season.

According to reports received here
in tho local forestry office from its
rangers in the Crater National forest
there Is stilt a shortage of snow In the
hills and mountains, and that contrary
to general supposition when it rained
so hard in this vicinity . last week It
did not snow in tho mountains. The
latest report received by the forestry
office last Saturday told that there
was 26 Inches of snow at Lako of the
Woods, whereas usually at this time
of the year thero Is four feet or more
of snow well packed down.

ford: Frederick Hopkins Is said not to be
