ed the: supply. These tickets may be

served seat sale began at Crowson's
nt noon today nnd will continue each
afternoon for the remainder of the
week.
' Over twenty songs, solos and cho
ruses will supply a musical program
of merit. The litgh school orchestra,
which is also under the direction' of
Mfss SheWvood, will supply the music
throughout. Some of the songs,
which are selected as favorites are:

AT ELKS' SMOKER
Indications are that the Past Exalt
ed Rulers Night observance and big
smoker of the Elks lodge tomorrow,
night will draw out one of the largest
attendances of B. P. O. E. men and
their men guests that the lodge ha's
ever enjoyed. The Binoker will begin
at 9:30, immediately following the
lodge session.
The members of tho local American
legion post will be guests of tho lodge
at the smoker, and in addition each
Elk. is privileged to invite a friend,
but must obtain a card of admission
to the Elks temple from the lodge sec
retary to give this friend. Tho legion
men and other guests are expected to
be there in time for the beginning of
the smoker at 9:30.
The usual big feed on such occa
sions will be served immediately after
tho conclusion of the smoker.

Roland Clark, candidato for mayor of
Palmetto, La., in a recent primary

has been so fully occupied that he has
given little attention to the note from
Germany rogardlng the palatinate.

massed on both Fides of the altar and

ard swinging free on its staff, with no
mourning band.
Along the entrance corridor to the
chapel tho wreaths and floral pieces
were set In a wonderful army of
beauty. On one wall hangs a mighty
wreath of red und white roses, more
than Heven feet across. It was sent
from Now York td express tho sym
pathy and tho gratitude of the Polish
people of New York. Nearby was tho
flag of Franco, done 'In fragrant blos
soms, and from some of the embas
sies had come tho coats of arms of
tho nations, made up In flowers, while
about the chapel or the corridor were
grouped tho offerings of the other
diplomatic missions. ,
Chairs had been set .for tho distin
guished few who might witness tho
ceremony and they more than half
covered the floor of the chapel. On
the back of the chapel where the
organ pipes are set in, flush wlth
stone work, blossoms had been woven
into the sculptured decorations that
tell the story of the birth of Christ.
Meantime, an hour before the ser
vice at the homo was to begin, several
thousand persons were gathered in 1
