tax revision legislation tomorrow will

duction proposals and other changes,
chiefly designed to clurify the revenue

'A complete re-draft' of the act has
been forwarded to the committee, by
the secretary with a statement to
Acting Chairman Green to the effect
that treasury -officials are ready at
any time to . present their arguments
in favor of- the proposed revisions.
Mr. Mellon, in a summary of his
suggestions .published today empha
sizes that the proposed revision In tho
tax on earned Incomes amounts to 44
per cent; a 25 per cent reduction being
recommended for all incomes below
$4000-with all. additional 25 per cent
off on' those derived from wages, sal
aries and professional fees.

Thomas H, McDonald, chief of tho
bureau of public roads in his annual
report, made public today, announced
that 26,636 miles of federal aid high
ways have beon completed of which
8820 wero finished within the last
fiscal year. In addition, 14.772 miles

As certified by the various states,
