K. M. Landis as high commissioner of
baseball, today continued in full sway,
strengthened by the joint meeting of
major league clubs, Out of the joint
meeting came fourteen amendments to
the rules, two of which were consid-,
ered important. One gave the com-'
missioner authority in claims and sal
ary disputes affecting umpires, the
other provided that coaches shall be
considered in the player limit for
clubs. ..A ,
The schedule for buying players for
large sums was reported to have been
discussed by the major league club
owners but without any action being
taken. The reports said it was the
sense of the , meeting that $25,000
should be a maximum price for any
ball player. ' '
Two deals of major Importance
wore consummated last night, one
sending Ray Kremer of Oakland, Cal.,
club to Pittsburg as a pitcher and the
other sending Dudley Leo, shortstop
with Tulsa, Olila., to the Boston Reds.

CHICAGO, Dec. "13. The United
States railroad . labor board today
handed down a decision affecting the
Great Northern railroad in the wide
spread jurisdictional dispute over
yard employes- between the switch
men's union and the Brotherhood of
Railway Trainmen. The board ruled
that either of these unions could call
for a ballot of yard employes to de
cide which shall represent these em.
ploycs. The switchmen' claim that
they have a majority among yard em
ployes, although the trainmen now
hold the contract with the road for em
ployes in that class of service. "
This decision was in the nature of
an addition to previous decisions in
the same dispute as affecting other
roads and would also permit the rail
road to call for a ballot on the ques
tion If they choose' - , V"
